I have peeled the wallpaper off our bathroom wall. Some of the wall board also peeled off. How do I prepare the wall to be painted. I do plan to texture the wall and then paint the texture.

I caulked my bathtub with silicone caulking and am not satisfied with its appearance(too rubbery looking). I would like to go back to a natural-tone latex caulking. What is the best way to change the caulking? Thanks in advance.
