Being not to code is a serious problem but if I did as you say, would that make it up to code? Also the problem that I want to solve it how to get ventilation to the crawl space. I did plan to dig down and put in a window well and install a air vent but after digging down I discovered the walls are poured. I don't know what to do to prevent the wood rot. I am at a loss. I appreciate any info you can give me.
