Depending on how your door is sagging, there are generally a few different remedies. One is to shim the hinges slightly. For example, by shimming the lowest hinge, this will push the bottom of the door out from the jamb, causing the top outside edge of the door to ease up slightly. You may have to shim the middle hinge too, in order to provide the right adjustment.

If the situation is really severe, you may need to revel the entire door jamb, which usually invovles removing the molding and is tricky business if you don't know what you're doing.

If your door is actually warped, no amount of adjustment may fix it.

You may also want to hire a handyman or finish carpenter who knows all about hanging doors. A professional can use his or her experience to make the right adjustment to the door without ruining it.

Alternatively, there are a number of "do-it-yourself" books available from Sunset and others that describe the process of hanging and leveling a door.
