Settling in Home - Stay away or Can you still look into

I'm very new to home buying. The area that I'm looking at sells houses within hours. A home has come up for entire week without recieving offers due to settling. Is settling something you completely stay away from or is it something that just needs to be inspected and assessed? I really like the home but scared of settling.
