Re: concrete vs. wood deck

The choice between a concrete or wood deck is primarily one of aesthetics and preference. Concrete, of course, lasts almost forever and requires virtually no maintenance. Wood decks require on-going maintenance and will require replacement in time. However, there's no comparison to the natural beauty of a wood deck. If you like the look of wood but want something that requires less maintenance, consider the synthetic wood decking material such as Trex. This composite lumber includes plastics which extend the life of the deck, but give it a look similar to wood. Builders Websource.
