You should not cover your existing Masonite Colorlok siding with vinyl siding. The existing siding should be fully removed, and the substructure should be inspected for any water or moisture damage. Once you're sure that the existing structure is in good condition and that the moisture barrier is not torn, you can install new vinyl siding. Another product we like is cement-fiber siding, such as Hardiplank. It has a long warranty and is virtually impervious to moisture damage. Builders Websource.
