To remove acoustical ceiling, please refer to one of our earlier postings about this topic at: http://www.builderswebsource.com/_discBT/0000018d.htm Since your home is less than 10 years old, there's probably no asbestos. However, this type of work creates a huge mess along with fine particles that become airborne. Be sure to seal off each room with plastic and wear a suitable respirator. Asbestos or not, breathing in fine dust is unhealthful for your and the occupants. Builders Websource.
