I have a wall about 25' long, and i want to knock out about 11' of it and move it back about 2 1/2' for a built in entertainment center. The floor joist for the living room run perpendicular and the garage run parallel to the wall. The wall is built of 2x6. My plan was to use 3 2x10 with 1/2" between them to make up the 5 1/2" and a 2 2x6 on top of beam. It is a 2 story home , weather loads not really a factor being in Texas snow is not much a factor. Any help would be appreciated.
