According to Tile Seconds website, http://www.tileseconds.com a mixture of 1-part water to 3-parts yellow woodworking or carpenters glue (also known as Aliphatic Resin), makes a strong, flexible binder ideal for securing mosaic tile to mesh backing. It's a good idea to lay the mesh over sheet plastic. Simply dab a bit of glue mixture on to the back of each mosaic, place on the mesh, and let dry. Be sure to leave plenty of clear space for adherence to the thinset mortar. Step-by-step instructions are available at: http://www.tileseconds.com/info_mosaiconmesh.htm where you can also buy the glue that's formulated for this application. Builders Websource.
