Yes, it is certainly possible to run your own HVAC ducting system, so long as you have a properly engineered design...and the right tools. The biggest flaw in most systems is improper design, leading to hot spots and/or cold spots. Sizing the ducts and positioning of the registers is key, and must be done by an HVAC engineer. Sometimes a good heating store will do the calculations for you if you purchase all the materials from them. Find one that's DIY-friendly and ask for installation advice. Builders Websource
