i have a ranch style home. the basement is 40x21 ft. there are 3 inch support poles every 7 ft. the entire length of the basement. i have 2 small finished rooms on one end of the basement that i wanted to open for a pool table room. i would like to either remove the support pole or install an i-beam is any of this possible. i thought the support beams were usually every 12 ft.
