I am getting ready to build a house here in Virginia. The house is a ranch that measures 62'long and 34'wide. The floor joists are gonna be ran parallel to the 34'walls, with a steel beam running the 62' down the center.I would like to know what size steel beam to use and how far apart my supporting columns need to be.
