If you just want a cheap window, then just buy the cheapest one. The performance of the windows by the manufacturers you mentioned really do not differ much. However, if you replace your wood windows with cheap vinyl ones then they will look just like that. Cheap! I would suggest fixing the wood ones or replacing them with new wood ones. Yes, you never have to paint the vinyl windows and that they are more energy efficient than the old wood windows. But, in reality, the windows do not need to be painted that often. Just think about this, my house is 85 years old and it still has its original wood windows. Believe me when I say thay nobody spent a lot of time maintaining them. The cost of energy you save from new windows probably will not amount to more than a few hundred dollars per year. So, you will not even break even for a very long time. In the mean time you are stuck with cheap ugly vinyl windows.
