slab home-putting in a basement

i purchased my home from my parents who had the house bult the contractors did a 8 ft pore but my father couldnt borrow the extra 2000 dollars to have the basement put in so they filled it with dirt and made it a slab home the house has been sinking and has had to be mud jacked two times and now needs a third done my question is can we put in the basement what would it require can i just remove the carpet and start breaking out the concrete floor and dig out the fill dirt or am i better off just getting it mudd jacked again and forget the basement what would the cost be eather way thank you for your time
