covering mirrored wall

In a room that used to be our home gym, I painted one wall black and glued (with liquid nails) mirror tiles in a pattern. Now I want to turn that room into a playroom for my son (with a construction equipment theme.) I want to cover that wall as easily as possible. I cannot imagine trying to pull off all those mirror tiles and sanding the wall, but I will if that is the only answer. Is there a way I can put something over it instead? I really wanted the top part to be something magnetic so I can hang up my son's artwork easily. I was thinking of putting sheet metal or dry erase board or chalkboard or pegboard or something like that over the wall. Any ideas would be appreciated!
