Hi. I have made an offer on a house I really like, but it has some very small cracks in the mortar around the bricks. These are hairline cracks that go up in a stairstep motion in the mortar--no broken bricks. They are as follows: - Cracks over the garage <E elevation> working inward from each corner moving 12 bricks on left & 6 on right side (weak lentil?). - Crack along coin on left wall of garage <S Elevation on corner of garage> - small crack along two bricks from base of house under window and at top of window <S elevation> - small crack along two bricks from bottom of porch below window under porch <W Elevation> Problem is, experienced contractor who is building inspector said no problem, engineer said COULD be. Does this sound bad? House is three years old. Is it possible is could settle more?
