I want to know if we are doing all we can do to minimize 1st year vaulted ceiling drywall cracks. Currently when ever we need to have a vault in a ceiling we use a plastic bead to provide strength and straight lines in our vaults. However we are experiencing cracks that start small and continue to grow which requires rework of the vault. As far as we know the intallation is done by applying spay on adhesive direct to the drywall then the bead (45 degree angle) is installed and bedded in. The temp of the house varies cold to hot depending on the time of the year. I have consulted with our installer and they say it can not be controled. So here I am to make sure all is being done without a design change. Any assistance will be appreciated. Eddie Roskydoll Customer Service Manager Sandlin Custom Homes
